BG: Daryl’s House Heads To Late Night

Since 2007, Daryl Hall has been hosting jam sessions with a diverse mix of artists at his 200 year-old-plus house in Dutchess County, New York, and recording them for a monthly web series that’s been appropriately dubbed Live From Daryl’s House. The series, which is now 46 episodes strong, has seen the likes of everyone from Grace Potter to Sharon Jones to Booker T. Jones to Toots & The Maytals stop by to play. The show will now make the leap from the laptops to television sets, as it will be heading to late-night TV airing in syndication on Saturday nights. The half-hour show will feature a mix of new and previous recorded sessions, with the premiere episodes featuring Train and Fitz & The Tantrums.

Finally, if there was one rock star that was tailor made to unleash some of his crazy on the world of social media, it’s undoubtedly Van Halen front man David Lee Roth. So it was a bit surprising for us to learn that the extroverted Roth had only just launched both a Twitter account and Facebook page within the last week or so. Both sites only contain a message that reads “Get Ready…”, which may or may not be referring to the rumored new Van Halen album, and there first with Roth since their mega-selling record 1984. We”ll keep our fingers crossed that both take on somewhat of the nutty brilliance of Charlie Sheen’s Twitter account.
