No one would have faulted Feist if she had immediately gone back into the studio to capitalize on the breakout success of 2007’s The Reminder, which thanks to a placement of the adorably catchy tune 1234 in an iPod commercial made the Canadian singer-songwriter somewhat of a household name. Instead she took her time in crafting the follow-up, retreating to Big Sur to record, with the results being released this past Tuesday on Metals.
