Fans of the NBC sitcom Community know Donald Glover best as the slightly dim-witted, pop culture obsessed Troy Barnes, but Glover’s comedic pedigree also includes stints as a writer for The Daily Show and 30 Rock, in addition to performing stand up. What you may not know about Glover is that he’s also an aspiring rapper who performs under the moniker of Childish Gambino, a name that he found using the Wu-Tang Name Generator. As Childish Gambino, Glover has released a series of well received mix tapes, and full length albums that mix an indie-rock aesthetic and samples with smartly written lyrics.
