Earlier this year the 2011 edition of the Hangout Music Fest graduated to the top tier of music festivals after selling out two weeks in advance. Today, organizers announced that Hangout will return to the white sand beaches of Gulf Shores, Ala. on May 18 – 20.
Early-bird tickets for the 2012 event go on sale next Friday, November 18, at 10AM CST for $159. Capacity for the Hangout Fest was 35,000 in 2011 and as of this summer promoter Shaul Zislin had no plans to increase the capacity for the 2012 event. This year’s lineup was announced on February 1, so expect a similar time frame for the 2012 event.
The Hangout Music Fest came onto the scene in 2010 boasting a lineup that featured Zac Brown Band, John Legend, Trey Anastasio and TAB, Alison Krauss and Union Station featuring Jerry Douglas, The Black Crowes, and Flaming Lips. Attendees raved about watching bands play on a beach and the bevy of nearby and luxurious accommodations. While the inaugural festival didn’t sell out, the 2011 event did thanks to an eclectic lineup headlined by Paul Simon, Widespread Panic, My Morning Jacket, Primus and the Flaming Lips.

Primus!! This festival is going to be jammin’! Sounds like a good time.
Any rumors about headliners for 2012?
Go figure, the site is slammed for the early bird pre-sale. Apparently, they didn’t load test the ticketing site.
I really like your site and I just heard a really cool band called ANTENNA, they are awesome. You should check them out. Keep up the good work with your site.
