Famed New Orleans bassist George Porter Jr. returns to New York City on Saturday night with his Runnin’ Pardners project in tow for a performance at Hiro Ballroom, where DJ Cochon de Lait, Sherman Ewing and THOR Jam are also on the bill. Runnin’ Parders mixes longtime Porter collaborators with a few youngsters who bring a burst of energy to the bassist’s solo and Meters tunes.
