A Rock Hall Class We Can Get Behind: Chili Peppers, Faces, Donovan, Nyro, King, GN’R and Beasties

Congratulations go out to HT faves Faces, Guns N’ Roses, Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Beastie Boys and Donovan, who along with Laura Nyro and Freddie King are the artists who’ve been chosen for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012. Each of those acts are worthy inductees in my humble opinion and I’m especially glad the Faces/Small Faces are getting the recognition they deserve. We can’t wait to hear Rod Stewart sing with the surviving members at the ceremony, which is set to take place at Cleveland’s Public Hall on April 14.

On the industry side, TV impressario Don Kirschner will receive the Ahmet Ertegun Award, while Tom Dowd and Glyn Johns will be honored with the Award for Musical Excellence. For much more on the Class of 2012, read Andy Greene’s story-breaking article for Rolling Stone.
