Rod Stewart & The Faces to Perform at Rock Hall Induction

If you’ve been reading HT since the beginning, you’re probably aware of our love for The Faces. A post from our first few months in existence was dedicated to two bands we never thought would reunite – God Street Wine and The Faces. Well, GSW got back together in a big way and next month The Faces will finally reunite with Rod Stewart according to the group’s drummer, Kenney Jones.

Jones told Music Radar that Stewart has agreed to play three songs with The Faces in Cleveland on April 14, when the band is inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame…

“Contrary to what some people might think, we’re all still great mates and we’ve never said we wouldn’t play together again,” said Jones. “We all had dinner about a month ago and decided that the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame would be the perfect time and place.”

Besides Jones and Stewart, the two other surviving members of The Faces are keyboardist Ian McLagan and guitarist Ron Wood. Jones revealed that the group’s three song set with include two Faces classics as well as a tune from the earlier Small Faces days. The drummer says it’s possible there will be future Faces performances depending on how next month’s mini-set goes. Cross those fingers!
