Pullin’ ‘Tubes: JEFF The Brotherhood

While they’ve been around for over a decade, it’s only been in the past few years that JEFF The Brotherhood has gone from a hard-touring act known for their incendiary live shows, to a major label act worthy of some well deserved support from the taste-makers at NPR Music. Made up of brothers Jake and Jamin Orrall, the guitar and drums duo break the mold of what you think you know about two-piece acts, playing a brand of fuzzed out garage rock that’s influenced just as much by The Ramones and Weezer as it is by surf-rock acts like Dick Dale and The Sandals.

The two-piece band has seen their stock rise over the last 18 months or so, thanks not only to last year’s critically acclaimed release We Are the Champions, but also for a pair of releases they put out on Jack White’s Third Man Records, which included a live album and a role as the backing band for the oddball collaboration with the Insane Clown Posse. Tomorrow, JEFF The Brotherhood will release their seventh studio album, Hypnotic Nights, via Warner Brothers Records, which you can currently stream at NPR. For the band’s major label debut, they tapped easily the new hardest working man in show business, The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach, to co-produce and have released the slightly NSFW music video for the record’s lead single – Sixpack. If you’re listening to the band for the first time Sixpack encapsulates everything JEFF The Brotherhood is about, and we bet it will be your new song of the summer. Let’s check it out…

JEFF The Brotherhood will play a special free album release show at Santos Party House in New York City on Wednesday night before heading out on the second leg of their summer world tour.
