Audio: Umphrey’s McGee – Money For Nothing

For the second time this year, and ever, Umphrey’s McGee played a set of covers last night that were voted on by fans. Dubbed “All Night Wrong” the sextet strung together the covers during their second set at The Fillmore in Silver Spring, Maryland [CLICK HERE to see the setlist]. As we approached the end of the set, it was interesting to see that of the many choices laid out by Umphrey’s on the All Night Wrong ballot, fans seemed to pick the more rarely-played covers in UM’s repertoire rather than tunes the band had never performed. Just as I voiced this theory, Umphrey’s lit into a cover of Dire Straits’ 1985 smash Money For Nothing – the first and only All Night Wrong debut.

Our pal Timothy Brown taped last night’s show and shared his recording through the Live Music Archive. We’ve uploaded the Umphrey’s McGee debut of Money For Nothing to SoundCloud…
