Full Show Friday: Van Halen in Buenos Aires ’83

Earlier this year iconic rockers Van Halen reunited with David Lee Roth for an album and a tour that helped us remember just how good the band was at the peak of their powers. For today’s Full Show Friday selection we’ve got 80 fabulous, professionally-shot minutes of live Van Halen from one of those peak power years – 1983 – recorded in Argentina.

When Van Halen pulled into Buenos Aires, Argentina on February 11th, 1983 they had been on the road for almost eight months straight. This would be the next to last gig of their “Hide Your Sheep Tour” and the band sounds tight as hell. Recorded a few months before Van Halen entered the studio to record 1984, this show saw the group pull from their first five studio albums with a focus on Diver Down. All the hits are here as well as covers of Dancing In The Street, Summertime Blues and (Oh) Pretty Woman. Check out this historic video of Van Halen kicking ass and taking names…
