Umphrey’s Jake Cinninger and Brendan Bayliss Play For Dolphins, Penguins, Sea Otters and Fans at Chicago’s Shedd Aquarium

MasterCard’s Priceless promotion staged events in interesting locations across the country for cardholders and one of these events hit right in our wheelhouse. Last night Umphrey’s McGee guitarists Jake Cinninger and Brendan Bayliss teamed up for an acoustic show at Chicago’s Shedd Aquarium. More specifically the show took place at the Abbott Oceanarium – a pavilion featuring dolphins, sea otters, penguins and more mammals swimming around as the pair played in front of them.

Brendan and Jake filled the set with rarities, covers, traditional holiday songs and guest spots. Fellow UM members Joel Cummins and Kris Myers played with their band mates for most of the show. Vocalist Michelle Hallman joined the quartet for a trio of holiday songs as well as UM rarity Bullhead City. The setlist varied greatly from the Acoustic Holiday Show the pair performed last weekend.

Here’s a look at Jake, Joel, Kris and Brendan performing Dear Prudence…
