Louis XIV

The Best Little Secrets Are Kept

Can you imagine Louis XIV going on tour with Ween? That would be as politically incorrect a duo as Larry The Cable Guy and Al Franken. On their new CD, The Best Little Secrets Are Kept, Louis XIV is more sexed up than Howard Stern interviewing Jenna Jameson at the Adult Video Awards.

These San Diego rockers channel glam rock Gary Glitter and T Rex style, while ignoring no debaucheries. With clapping drum-beats and primal, simple guitar licks, Louis XIV won’t be scoring any points for musicianship, but rather for their “oh, me so horny” lyrics. Lead vocalist Jason Hill’s gonzo talk singing delivery style sounds like a pure phone sex junkie as he speaks of his girls as “sweet tooth sugar fix,” carrot juice” and “milk shake.” Even the “Asian Girl who can come if she wants,” the “smart girl with the glasses and books” and the “stupid girl who makes the dirty looks,” all make an appearance on the first single “Finding Out True Love Is Blind“. “Pledge Of Allegiance” rocks of the adventure of Little Stacie Q and paying her allegiance to the “United States of Me,” while “Illegal Tender” marches with a Rocky Horror Picture Show flamboyant stomp where Hill’s voice moves to the theatrical.

The Best Little Secrets Are Kept is more testosterone filled glam boogie for the mop haired, proving that its not just the Maxim reading, Abercrombie and Fitch wearing college boys that have an outspoken dirty mind.
