The Bronco Busters sent Pulse Racing (Big Dipper Records) to my home address (unsolicited), so it's no stretch to assume these girls know where I live. The Norwegian trio appears grim-faced and menacing on the album cover in a snapshot that, unfortunately, may find its way into The Hall of Douchebags. I best mind my manners as it's a safe bet all three ladies could whoop this hacks ass. Despite this (and because of it?) I'd hook-up with two-thirds of the band.
So? What I'm arriving at is this-You can judge this book by its cover. This is cute and fierce grrrl power-pop that had a little punk rock as part of their complete breakfast…the most important meal of the day.
You might gravitate toward the softer, velvety swatches like "One More Reason to Go" or "Gotta Go," where the bridge, "You're too slow for a reggae song" is catchy, and the cowbell priceless. You may prefer to bounce up and down while pumping a fist with a leather and spikes bracelet on the wrist to the likes of "Not Easy Going" and "Pagan Baby Blues," with their Splenda sweet vocals and crunchy riffs.
