Future Rock

 Sugar Coated Bullets

Sugar Coated Bullets is an appropriate title, for the sounds cut through you, but feel sweet going in. Future Rock, a Chicago-based trio, combine forces in preparing their delectable electronic/sonic feast, striking as a band seemingly from the future, manipulating frequencies and electronic beats. Infusing sounds with bass-lines (Felix Moreno), acoustic drums (Darren Heitz), and vintage keyboards (Mickey Kellerman), “fm1” warps in and out of the ears and rocks hard, while sinister funk creeps out in “Narrow Bridge.” They occasionally focus more on the sounds of the synthesizers than the structure of their music (a problem during the 70’s synth era), but it doesn't make Bullets any less fun.
