Slightly Stoopid

 Live In San Diego

After years of fanbase pleas, Southern California’s Slightly Stoopid has finally released their first full-length concert DVD - culled from a two-night stand in the band’s hometown, at the House of Blues. As Live In San Diego starts, you are immediately immersed within the laid back, California stoner rock atmosphere that surrounds them, as the band is seen backstage relaxing before coming out to the excited hometown crowd cheering beyond the walls.

As the surf locale would lend itself, Slightly Stoopid is the perfect late summertime music, as they effectively blend loose styles, shifting from heavy bouncy reggae to thrash style SoCal punk. “Running With A Gun,” “Mellow Mood” and “Ain’t Got A Lot Of Money” are DVD highlights, and the audience is notably amped for the crowd faves, “Couldn’t Get High” and “Collie Man.”

The DVD is complimented with a double audio release, and although the DVD and CD share some tracks, the film features 6 songs that you won’t find on the double disc, and there are 9 tracks on the double disc you won’t see on the DVD. So for those most endearing, grabbing both releases is a good choice.

If you’re looking to soak in the last days of summer, Live In San Diego turns up the heat.
