Modest Mouse and
The National will open for
REM on their forthcoming US tour.
Although the dates have not yet been announced,
Billboard reported and
Modest Mouse's publicist confirmed that the two bands will join them on their jaunt.
REM hand-selected the bands to open for them on the tour to support their forthcoming album
'Accelerate', which is due out April 1 in the US and a day earlier in the UK and Europe, as previously reported.
REM frontman Michael Stipe is reportedly a big admirer of
New York rockers
The National.
