Galactic, Cracker Onboard For Green Apple Concerts

Galactic, Cracker, Travis Tritt and Soulive are among the artists who will play free "Green Apple Thank You Concerts" in various venues in ten different cities on Earth Day (April 19).  The concert audiences will be filled entirely with volunteers who participate in simultaneous environmental volunteer actions that weekend.

Each artist performing a Green Apple concert will play "with friends."

A flagship concert in Washignton, D.C., "Earth Day On The Mall," will be held the same day.  The lineup for that event will be announced soon.

Now in its fourth year, 2008's Green Apple Festival expanded to eight cities and drew more than 200,000 people to participate in volunteer events and attend the free concerts.



Here's the full list of Green Apple Festival concert cities, artists and venues:

Atlanta, GA: Galactic & Friends with opener Victoria George (Variety Playhouse)
Austin, TX: Travis Tritt & Friends (Antone's) *(on Monday April 20)
Boston, MA: Soulive & Friends (Paradise Rock Club)
Chicago, IL: Cracker & Friends (The Metro)
Denver, CO: Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk & Friends (Cervante's Masterpiece)
Los Angeles, CA: The Hotel Cafe Presents Cary Brothers & Friends (The Roxy)
New York City: Deep Banana Blackout featuring Fred Wesley & Friends (Bowery Ballroom)
San Francisco, CA: BassNectar & Friends (Slim's)
Seattle, WA: The Blue Scholars & Friends (The Crocodile)
Washington, DC: artists will be announced soon for Earth Day on the National Mall
