Love Is a War

Athens, Georgia is a music mecca if you want to look for the next up and coming band that will be the next household name with its rich musical history.  Since their creation in 2006, The Corduroy Road has been spreading their blend of roots and Americana music over the Southeast.  This band is the brainchild of songwriting duo Drew Carman and Dylan Solise who grew up in Bluegrass Country in Kentucky before moving to the classic city to take their music to the next level.  They enlisted the help of Athens resident musical maestro producer; John Keane to their newest release, Love is a War

With the release of Love Is a War, The Corduroy Road are out to showcase Carman and Solise’s incredible songwriting skills and smooth vocal harmonies.  With a toe tapping melody and mixes of some great work on banjo, guitar, and organ, the title track is reminiscent of Avett Brothers.  Standout track of the album is “So Blue” is destined to be an instant Americana classic with its catchy chorus and some fantastic pedal steel work by producer John Keane.  Expect to hear rambling number “Just One Drop” blaring at summer barbeques with its feel good lyrics and irresistible melody, while the band shows off their Kentucky roots on the bluegrass tinged “About a Shoe.”  With original songwriting and innovative sound, The Corduroy Road has the right recipe to become the newest sensation to come out of Athens.
