Brandi Carlile will release her third album, Give Up The Ghost, on October 6th on Columbia Records. After two albums and non-stop touring, she has let her guard down and offers her most candid recording to date. The album features her longtime band including twins Tim and Phil Hanseroth and cellist Josh Neumann, and was recorded at Sunset Sound in Los Angeles, CA.
The recording of Give Up The Ghost presented the realization of a dream for Carlile – the opportunity to work with her idol, Elton John.
Give Up The Ghost also features Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers multi-instrumentalist Benmont Tench, drummer Chad Smith and Amy Ray of The Indigo Girls, all of whom contribute to the album.
Carlile has also announced the dates for her “Give Up The Ghost Traveling Show” beginning September 10th at The Depot in Salt Lake City, UT. The tour will make stops at legendary venues across the country including Chicago’s House of Blues, New York’s Beacon Theatre and The Wiltern in Los Angeles.
