Black Francis Plans Solo Acoustic Tour

Black Francis (aka Frank Black) of The Pixies r grabs his acoustic guitar and hits the road this month.

Playing material from his 20+-year career, Black Francis begins his solo journey in Boise, Idaho, at Neurolux July 12. Destinations include Salt Lake City at The State Room July 15; Kansas City at Knuckleheads July 18; St. Louis at The Old Rock House July 10; Indianapolis at Radio Radio July 20; Columbus, Ohio, at Outland Live July 21; Pittsburgh at Club Café July 22; New York City’s Le Poisson Rouge July 24 and Wellfleet, Mass., at Beachcomber July 28.

Black Francis recently posted a note on his website saying everything he recorded under his Frank Black & The Catholics moniker is being prepped for a box release. That’s 80 tracks from six “formally” released albums plus songs from Snake Oil, One More Road For The Hit and Sunday Sunny Mill Valley Grove Day. So far, no release date for the collection has been announced.
