Slow Club Brings Paradise To San Francisco Via Thrillcall + Glide Magazine

In September 2011, British-based indie folk/rock duo Slow Club released their sophomore album Paradise to critical and commercial acclaim; however, they’ve yet to replicate their massive popularity on American shores. But if there were an album to launch them from small (yet hardened) fandom to widespread underground success, it’d definitely be Paradise. Building on the sparse folk and power chord-driven alternative rock synthesis they explored on their debut Yeah, So (2009), in 2011 Slow Club deepened their approach with thoughtful orchestrations, lithe songwriting and bewitching vocals. For a band so young, they’ve already established themselves as a compelling studio act and an even more engaging live act.
Earlier this week, Slow Club began a short run of US dates along the West Coast, and today they play the Brick + Mortar Music Hall in the Mission district of San Francisco-- an incredibly intimate venue that showcases exciting up-and-coming acts. With the building celebrity of the band, it’ll become increasingly difficult to see them in such small venues in the coming years.
Glide Magazine is delighted to partner with Thrillcall to present the Slow Club show at the Brick + Mortar. We’re running a promotion via Thrillcall’s mobile app to offer a VIP ticket package to the show, which includes entry, a reserved table and a free drink.
While Thrillcall has been around for a few years, offering listings to local concerts to connect audiences with venues, the launch of their new mobile app (done in conjunction with San Francisco’s wildly popular Noise Pop Festival in mid-February) pitches the company into a whole new sphere of live music commerce. Their app is unique in that it presents “flash” offers of exclusive ticket packages (entry to sold out shows, backstage passes, VIP treatments, etc.) to music fans via the ease of mobile technology. Bringing a level of spontaneity to local events also gives the company an edge that few of its competitors can claim.
In order to access the VIP ticket package for the Slow Club show at San Francisco’s Brick + Mortar Music Hall tonight, presented by Glide Magazine, download the Thrillcall mobile app HERE, and log on at 11 AM (PST) to purchase. Also, the more you share the app, the earlier entry you have to the exclusive deal.
