| A Memorable Moment From the Road in 2004 |
- We played moe’s festival “Summercamp” in Peoria. As we were about to play, a hurricane warning was announced. The festival was evacuated but some of us remnants ran to a little historic home out in the fields. The skies went crazy. We actually had to go down into the basement like the wizard of oz. After it was over the promoter tried to persuade us to stay another day to perform but we couldn’t because we had to drive to Albuquerque for our next show. Then he said he would charter a private jet,,,,,,, so we did it. We were sure to have the tour bus (which had driven ahead without us) drive out onto the runway and pull up next to the plane. People in the airport crowded up against the windows to see who it was,,,,and a hush of awe could be heard when they found out,,,,,,it was none other than,,,,,,the Jazz Mandolin Project!
