Beck - Guero - I wouldn’t call myself a Beck-expert, but it seems like every record Beck makes overflows with creativity and funkiness. I love the SoCal flavors throughout.
- Jack Johnson - In Between Dream - My favorite Jack record yet. As always, soulful and tasty, but there seems to be more edge and roots-rock vibe on this one.
- Forest Sun - Walk Through Walls - This was one of my favorite recording sessions I’ve ever been part of. We did it in a little cabin in Marin over one long weekend. I love how rootsy the recording turned-out.

Favorite Live Performances of 2005 |
-
Benevento/Russo Duo with special guests Mike Gordon (Phish) and Gabby La La at Bonnaroo in Manchester, TN. Great jam energy.
- Tin Hat at The Freight & Salvage this December. One of my favorite groups to see live! They are the masters of subtle sounds and ear-bending melodies.
- Grey DeLisle at the SF Fillmore with her husband Murry Hammond (from the Old 97’s) on bass and backing vocals. I loved Murry’s subtle backing yodel!

One of them has to be ALO sitting in with Galactic (as the “Pointer Brothers”) covering the vocals on “Yes We Can Can” at the Theater of Living Arts in Philly, PA. Made me feel like I was a Temptation!
