Glide's 5th Annual Best of 2007: From the Artists' Perspective

By The Glide Staff

Everyone makes their standard "best of's," top 10s" and "year in review" lists, but each December we like to take that model a couple of steps further. We go straight to the artists to see where they found inspiration over the past twelve months, and we don't stop with just album choices. We dig a bit deeper and go for a broader picture of the past year in art. From classic moments on the road to their guilty pleasure confessions, this is a panoramic snapshot of "the best of 2007," and a peek into what to expect in '08.

A Memorable/Humorous/Classic Moment on the tour bus/road in 2007

  • Halloween in Minneapolis opening for Gov't Mule...I love the Mule and their fans to death, but sometimes their crowd isn't the most....how do I put this....."playful"....We had on the most ridiculously over the top costumes...I was a gorilla-pimp, Matt was a white Siberian tiger, Grace was a Liger (Lion/Tiger), and Bryan was a masculine fairy dressed all in pink (he even had a pink bass!!!).  So we amble up on stage to .....................silence.............................I just don't think the crowd had a clue what the hell we were up to....We just looked at each other and laughed our asses off...Then we played a pretty good set (when our costumes weren't getting in the way).   It turned into a great night, but that's not the first time we've totally bewildered a crowd....Freaks from VT we are....   :)
