Your Personal Favorite On-stage Moment/Show of 2008

Sitting in with Los Lobos

Classic Album or Artist You Discovered This Year

Million Dollar Quartet - Elvis, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, & Johnny Cash. We recorded a session at Sun Studio and were invited to "take whatever we wanted" from the gift shop. I picked up the Million Dollar Quartet because while I'd heard about it, I'd never actually listened to it from beginning to end. It's quite remarkable actually. The banter in between the songs is almost as entertaining as the music!

Artist You Are Most Excited About In 2009 (any medium)

Backyard Tire Fire to be honest. We're making a record with Steve Berlin from Lobos and I couldn't be more excited! Other folks that we've played with that are experiencing some success that I'll be watching are guys like William Elliot Whitmore and Cory Chisel and the Wandering Sons. Both have great voices and songs and are good people.

A Memorable/Humorous/Classic Moment on the tour bus/road in 2008

We met George Wendt a while back at a show in Chicago. My brother Matt (our bass player) and George hit it off and had quite a time. Long story short, we went to NYC for a week to play gigs and promote the new record and George invited us to be his guests on Broadway to see him starring in Hairspray. He is in drag throughout. Quite a site. Anyway, he told us to stay in our seats and after we'd be brought backstage at the Neil Simon Theatre to say our hellos. He showed us the band pit where all the music is performed and we had a nice chat and went our seperate ways. The next night we were playing at Pianos in Manhattan and I looked out and there was George boppin' his head and enjoying a cold beer! You gotta love New York.
