Best Album(s) of 2008
Lil Wayne: Tha Carter III--- One of few albums I can actually just let play from top to bottom. No filler. Just hits. Weezy fuh sheezy!
Kanye West: 808's and Heartbreak--- Stepped out the box and stepped pretty! Hot steppin' for sure!
Rihanna: Good Girl Gone Bad--- Every song is a hit! She's the hottest thing on the game right now and the album shows why that is.
Favorite Song(s) of 2008
Live Your Life--- This is the song of my life. Powerful hook by Rihanna and lyrics of truth by T.I. Rihanna's verse makes the song into an anthem.
Let It Rock---- I just love the perfect fusion of hip-hop and rock. It was done right and the song makes me feel ready to let it rock! Lil Wayne and Kevin Rudolf are a great combo.
Viva La Vida--- I can't help but sing along and the track just makes me feel happy. The lyrics are so true. Just as easily as good things come, they can just as easily disappear. Here today gone tomorrow.
Your Personal Favorite On-stage Moment/Show of 2008
I REALLY enjoyed performing at the 2008 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade
Another moment I'll never forget was playing in Sacramento, CA at the HP Arena where the Sharks play. It was the first time I played such a large venue and crowd. We made the whole place glow (every cell phone and device was lit). Everyone sang T-Shirt word for word. I almost cried right there on stage.
I performed at a Breast Cancer charity event in Boca Raton, FL. After the show, Queen Latifah came to my room to tell me how much she enjoyed my show and that she sees a true star in me. I was
seeing stars!
Classic Album or Artist You Discovered This Year
Lil Wayne: Tha Carter III. I also really think Kanye West's 808's and Heartbreak is the freshest most creative project of the year. I'm a huge fan! Wicked!
Best Film You Saw This Year
The Dark Knight: The acting was “so on” and the graphics were amazing. The plot was unlike many of the comic book/superhero movies; it was perfect.
Sex and the City: It was also so perfect! I love being a girl :)
Favorite new gadget, technology, site or application you can't live without
I already can't live without my T-mobile Sidekick (I want the G1 next, that looks really cool), my Mac Book Pro, Myspace, Facebook, Skype and Serato. I recently got the Nokia N95 8G phone. That is the sickest gadget I have. I swear it does everything. It takes better and clearer pictures and longer videos. It also comes with a program called Kyte that has changed my life! I use it as a video blogging tool. I set up my channel and can embed the player anywhere online. I can post videos, pictures, edit AND do live streaming. I can even chat! I use it to document my life as an artist and to connect with my very loyal fans. I keep them updated on what's going on with me no matter where in the world I am! Go check it out!
Artist You Are Most Excited About In 2009 (any medium)
Honestly Me! With zero arrogance. I feel like I'm doing pretty well at the end of 2008 so I'm looking forward to 2009 with such excitement and anxiety! I feel ready for the world. But I really am soooo excited about Britney! I probably could be the captain of the Britney Squad! Go Brit Brit!
Your Latest Guilty Pleasure
It has always been Family Guy and Spongebob Squarepants, but of late I've been watching a lot of Hannah Montana and That's so Raven...and no, I don't even live with kids! Come on you know you love that stuff too!
What should President Obama change first in 2009?
Rebuild New Orleans
Begin to introduce free education and or health care
Restrict car/vehicle manufacturers from making environmentally unsafe and unfriendly machines and develop more alternative and clean fuel research.
A Memorable/Humorous/Classic Moment on the tour bus/road in 2008
New Orleans was definitely one of my favorite cities! It reminds me a lot of Barbados. The food and the people are amazing. Talk about music! I saw the graveyards and Brangelina's crib. But the most memorable of all was when I did the Kissmass Bash in Buffalo, NY at the HSBC Arena where the Sabres play. That was the largest show of all and the response to my music was overwhelming! But that still couldn't match up to the time I spent after my performance in Buffalo with the children of Camp Good Days. I went up to suite #58 where they watched the entire show and we hung out, took pictures, danced and sang along to Metro Station performing "Shake It". The kids are all affected by cancer in some way so it meant so much to see smiles on their faces and make their night. They sure made mine! A little one even wrote me a note with his number on it that said "Will you marry me?" Ha! How cute!
