Hidden Track was started in October 2006 by Slade Sohmer and Scott Bernstein to offer live music fans an off-beat look at a wide range of genres from Prog-Rock to Classic Rock to Jazz to Blues to Jam to Indie and everything in between. Each workday we provide our readers with a hearty mix of news, columns and features from over 20 contributors. Our staff came together due to our love of music, but we also touch on the worlds of film, sports, pop culture, food and anything else that catches our fancy.
Slade left Hidden Track in February of 2008 and went on to start HyperVocal with Scott taking on the role of Editor-in-Chief at HT. In January of 2009, Hidden Track was awarded the 2008 Weblog Award for Best Music Blog, a fair indication of how far we’d come in our first 28 months. Over the first four years of Hidden Track’s existence Stereogum, Rolling Stone, the New York Times, Sports Illustrated, Consequence of Sound and The Daily Swarm as well as hundreds of other sites have each linked to our original content.
We’ve added a number of smart and witty contributors over the years broadening the scope of both the locations and genres that we cover. If you’d like to be a member of the Hidden Track team, or if you’d like to send us anything to screen and fluff for the masses, you can do so at firstname.lastname@example.org. We’d love to hear from you, so drop a line whenever you feel like we should listen closely to what you have to say.
Scott Bernstein helped start the blog in 2006 and is currently the Editor-in-Chief. Scott also writes for Relix Magazine, Pimpwiz, You Enjoy MyBlog and Scottybiz. His first concert was the Jackson Family Victory Tour in 1984 and he hasn’t looked back since. Anyone wishing to contribute to the blog should contact email@example.com for guidelines.
Jeff Greenblatt started contributing to Hidden Track in 2007 and became Managing Editor in February 2008. He comes to us from his self-published blog, Hits From The Blog. Each week Jeff writes a number of columns including Tour Dates and Bloggy Goodness. Jeff also leads the way on a number of collaborative projects including Pullin’ ‘Tubes, At The Barbecue and our Best Of series. Jeff received the additional Project Coordinator title in January 2009.
Ryan Dembinsky (aka Rupert) joined the Hidden Track editorial staff as a Contributing Editor in 2009 after writing a weekly column on HT for over a year. Ryan focuses on features and has delivered some of the best posts in our site’s history.
Andy Kahn has helped the Hidden Track cause by providing invaluable guidance about the site’s direction and project management in his role as Research and Development Editor and Executive Producer. You can also read Andy’s work on HT and over at Loud Loop Press.
Chad Berndtson writes for The Patriot Ledger, PopMatters, Glide, Relix and other publications. He connected with Hidden Track early in 2008 and has been helping to guide the site with his astute observations and advice ever since. Chad was named Consulting Editor in January 2009.

In 2010, Jeremy was named Photo Editor for Hidden Track and aims to debut a new column focusing on photography soon. You can check out much of Jeremy’s work at his Flickr site.
Brian Bavosa has a long history of writing for many of the best publications in our scene and joined the HT staff as a Featured Columnist in 2010. You can read his take on topics near and dear to his heart every two weeks in Postcards From Page Side.
Parker Harrington joined the Hidden Track staff full-time in 2011 after coming to us with his wonderful post-tour Phish surveys in previous years. Parker started our popular Technology Tuesday column during the Summer of ’11 and was named Technology Editor upon the launch of our redesigned site.
