AfterNews: Ween/Up North/MMJ

  • Dean Ween broke his left heel in two places and sprained his right ankle after jumping over a fence at the ATP Festival in Britain over the weekend. The artist formerly known as Mickey Melchiondo explains what happened, and the painful aftermath, in his latest blog entry. Unbelievably, the Ween European tour continues on despite Deaner’s gruesome injuries.

  • We were hoping My Morning Jacket would throw in a classic for their second song on Saturday Night Live, instead they opted to play two songs off of Evil Urges. If you missed out here’s video of I’m Amazed and Evil Urges. Even my mom dug their performance, and she usually hates all of this new fangled post-jam music.
  • Ratdog, Umphrey’s McGee and The Wailers have been tapped to headline Central Maine’s Up North Music Festival on August 8-10. The lineup looks fairly generic so far, but you can’t beat the location. Look for more details on the newest hippie jamfest to be announced within the next few weeks.
