I just went to the freezer to pull out some ice cubes for the Pepsi cola I intended to pour. Ever since I got my own place, I’ve started talking to myself, and this trip to the kitchen was no different. I threw two cubes into the glass and stopped, then said to nobody, “Eh, toss in another one…I like cold beverages.”

Needless to say, what followed was the out-loud full chorus of the G. Love and Special Sauce collegiate classic, with my feet eventually moving to the beat on the kitchen floor. The chorus ended and I came to, but it’s been in my head for the last 15 minutes. Now it’s your turn. Now youse can’t leave.

I blame the whole episode on sleep deprivation related to post-festival trauma. Austin City Limits kicked the ever-living crap out of me, and I’m literally working on no shut-eye here. And if you’re counting at home, today’s return trip home involved a cab > an hour plane ride > a three and a half hour plane ride > a crowded shuttle bus because the AirTrain broke > another shuttle > train> subway > 10-minute walk. Awesome. Because that’s what I was looking for this morning and afternoon.

In any event, if for some strange reason you haven’t seen our daily coverage of the ACL festival this weekend, you can catch up with everything here: Day One recap, Day Two recap, Day Three recap, Big Fuckin’ Fire. Something tells me I’m going to remember forever this festival that featured sick sets from Arcade Fire, My Morning Jacket, Wilco, Andrew Bird, Dr. Dog, Rose Hill Drive, Midlake, Spoon, The Killers, Del McCoury, Bela Fleck, and so many more. Ka-kow.
