Booking summer shows for mid-level acts is never an easy task. While there are plenty of sheds across the country, there aren’t that many cool outdoor venues that hold between two and eight thousand fans. So what’s a band like the Disco Biscuits to do? Well this summer they are teaming up with over a dozen electronic acts – including HT faves Pretty Lights – for the first-ever touring electronic music only festival called Identity to get into those ampitheatres they wouldn’t be able to fill by themselves.
Details about the touring festival are sparse at this point. What we do know, as per Consequence of Sound, is that Identity will hit 20 major outdoor amphitheatres throughout North America in August and September. We also know the acts that will participate – the Disco Biscuits, Pretty Lights, Kaskade, Rusko, Avicii, Steve Aoki, DJ Shadow, Skrillex, Pete Tong, Chuckie, Booka Shade, Modeselektor, The Crystal Method (DJ Set), Holy Ghost!, Nero, Datsik, Erolalkan, Chad Hugo, Aeroplane, LA Riots, Doorly, Nervo, White Shadow, Jessie and the Toy Boys and The Eye with more performers to be announced later.
What we don’t know is the artists playing each show, the dates and the venues where Identity will visit. Promoters say all of those details will be revealed next month. We’ll be sure to let you know when further information has been announced.
