Back on Wednesday, at Wilco’s first of two shows at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center near Atlanta, guitarist Nels Cline used Duane Allman’s famed 1957 Les Paul for a few songs at the gig.
One of the tunes that Nels utilized the historic instrument on was Impossible Germany, a song which features a solo that is a showcase for Cline’s sizzling guitar work in the same way that Inca Roads was for Frank Zappa or Reba is for Phish’s Trey Anastasio.

I was there and it was magnificent. Outstanding show from a band that seems to get better with age.
Yes, both shows were sick. Nels played the 1957 LP with great respect to the original owner, more than I can say towards his Jassmaster.
My problem is that Wilco fans cannot decide whether to sit or stand. It’s incredibly confusing. I was on the floor the first night, standing happily, and in the balcony the next night, sitting, uncomfortably.
