Bloggy Goodness: Live From New York

After playing to a sold out Madison Square Garden in the fall of 1969, when The Doors rolled back into New York City in January of 1970 they booked themselves into the much more intimate Felt Forum – the room directly under the fabled arena. Jim Morrison & Co. used their four-show, two-night stand to showcase material from their yet-to-be-released Morrison Hotel album. Those shows, which had been previously mined for Absolutely Live, will now be released in their entirety as a six-disc, 90 song set called Live in New York which is set to be released on November 10.

Finally, yesterday a partnership between one of NYC’s newest and most unique venues – Brooklyn Bowl – and the city’s premiere concert promoters – The Bowery Presents – was announced, as John Moore was named the new talent buyer for the bowling alley/restaurant/concert hall. Moore, who will pull double-duty as he is also the talent buyer at the MHoW, will be joined by Will Griggs, co-founder of Cantora Records, as talent coordinator. We can’t wait to see what shows the duo brings to this fantastic space.

  1. Conor Oberst is the worst dogsh*t I’ve ever had the displeasure of hearing (opened for Wilco). Worse than F*ing Dispatch or Howie Day… The 15-year-old girls at the show seemed to dig it though.
