As we previously reported, we were psyched to see that Solid Sound Festival will return for its second year to MASS MoCA in North Adams, MA. As promised earlier this week, organizers behind the Wilco-curated event revealed some initial details about the fest, including early-bird ticketing information. Moving from August to the last weekend in June, Solid Sound will feature two headlining sets from hosts Wilco, a comedy cabaret hosted by John Hodgman, a Euclid Records pop-up store, and the addition of the Solid Ground tent site, which will offer nearby camping for attendees.

Tickets will be on sale 11AM EST this Friday, January 21, through the festival’s official website SolidSoundFestival.com, through the MASS MoCA box office and through massmoca.org, which include a limited amount of “early worm” three-day passes for just $99.50, as well as single-day options.

Finally, on Tuesday the music world lost Don Kirshner at the age of 76 to heart failure. Kirshner, known as “The Man With The Golden Ear”, helped to foster the early songwriting careers of Neil Diamond, Neil Sedaka, Carol King and more, whom he signed his music publishing company Aldon Music.  Kirshner was arguably most famous for the the creation of both The Monkees and The Archies, as well as serving for the host of Don Kirshner’s Rock Concert, which aired on ABC from 1973-1981.
