There doesn’t seem to be anything standing in the way of Neil Young dipping into his vast archive of live recordings these days. The legendary singer-songwriter, who finally released his much-hyped and perpetually delayed Archives, Vol. 1 this summer, has assembled his next vault release, Dreamin’ Man, which features a complete live performance of his Harvest Moon album. The album which hits stores on November 2, was mined from a run of solo acoustic gigs he did in 1992 in support of the record.

Finally, indie-rock godfathers Sonic Youth have been forced to cancel all the dates on their upcoming Southwest run, including their appearance at the Austin City Limits Festival, due to a fractured wrist that guitarist Lee Ranaldo suffered while playing tennis. The band has rescheduled most of the shows for early 2010. More details on the new dates and refund info can be found on their website. In other Sonic Youth news, the band will appear on the October 12 episode of Gossip Girl, where they will perform their classic track Star Power – so be sure to set your DVRs for that.
