Live Nation has announced they are building a new Fillmore club in Silver Spring, Maryland, just outside of our nation’s capital. The new Fillmore, which is due to open in late 2009 or early 2010, will accommodate audiences from 500 (seated) to 2,000 (standing). You think of Ricky Shroder, I’m thinking of Oprah now…I’m just picturing her standing on stage yelling at her audience, consisting of a representative from every big city in the country, shouting in her Oprah voice: “You get a Fillmore, you get a Fillmore, you get a Fillmore, you get a Fillmore, you get a Fillmore, you get a Fillmore…”
When are they buying Red Rocks? I’d love to see one of them in Philly.
