Briefly: Outside Lands
I thought we were in the clear without having to mention the words festival, Radiohead and Jack Johnson in the same sentence for a little while….Brief pause….Was that long enough? I think so. We’re already sick of talking about festies, and the season hasn’t even started yet. Today news surfaced about the Outside Lands Festival, which is scheduled to take place in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park on August 22-24. As has become commonplace now, Radiohead and Jack Johnson will headline along with Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers.

How about a golden dildo?
JJ as a headlining multiple festival act does nothing for me. Don’t get me wrong he’s good but does his name on the bill really sell that many more tickets?

Yes, Christopher, Jack Johnson does indeed equal higher ticket sales. He may not be everyone’s ideal festival headliner, as evidenced by how much he’s been ripped on since being announced for Coachella, Bonnaroo and APW, but the guy is talented and he brings in a different type of paying crowd than the other headliners on these lineups.
To each their own, and people should know from prior festy experience…when there is a band onstage that you don’t like, you will probably find one on another stage during that same time slot that you do like. That’s how festies should be, and for the most part, that’s exactly how they are…
