Briefly: Trey Begins His Comeback @ Rothbury
It looks like Trey Anastasio can’t wait until the Newport Folk Festival to get back on stage for his own gig for the first time in 17 months. Big Red will play an acoustic set at the Rothbury Festival on Sunday July 6. Here’s hoping he didn’t have to trade any of his testicles for the gig. Two other former members of Phish, Mike Gordon and Jon Fishman, were already on the impressive Rothbury lineup.

Grateful Dead in 87, 89, & 90 wasn’t 69, 72, 73, or 77, but it sure was fine. I need to go out and see/hear a Harry Hood, Slave, YEM, Makisupa…ECT

They don’t have to recreate any magic. It’s going to be creating new magic. Trey is clean and has a new zest for life and music. I’ve been clean from Heroin now for 17months and my love and taste for life has increased dramatically. If they get back together it’s going to be rockin! No Doubt!

But I need to see a Harry Hood Goddamn it! 5-10 more years? After they lose all their dexterity?

Scotty, always a pleasure. No one blames your overzealousness.
I simply hope this is not Trey and The Boy’s overzealousness. I for one (jaded vet here) believes they are going to have a tough time recreating “the magic” on stage and I am even more skeptical of the circus that will surround them. This is going to be a tough, tough situation to pull off correctly and its such a precious thing to so many people.
Is it better left in the past? 5-10 more years? Forever?

it’s fun to have something to be geeky about again :)
He also sat in with phil at Glens Falls and DMB at SPAC, but who’s counting?

Uh, I changed it. And changed it again, since he took the stage with the Faux at the Jammys as well. Don’t blame the messenger, blame me and my overzealousness.

Trey is an alien and the lost brother of Abraham Lincoln. So I heard.

Derrrrrrr. That’s why the article says “for the first time since March 2007″.

Damn, thanks for the heads up. That’s what I get for taking my info from Trey.com. And I was at that show, too!

I seem to remember Trey playing Langerado in March of 2007…

Is this part of his work release program? Good to see Ernie playing some live dates, though I’m sure everyone will complain about the fact he plays Simple Twist Up Dave, Shine and Plasma.
