Each year, the promoters of Bonnaroo continue to out do themselves when it comes to the lineup for the Bonnaroo Comedy Theatre. The stage started as a minor attraction in 2005 with Godfrey and Pete Correale providing the jokes. In 2006 the promoters aimed higher by getting bigger names like Patton Oswalt and Demetri Martin. Last year, things really took off when Lewis Black, David Cross, Finesse Mitchell and a slew of hilarious, and well-known, comics kept the crowds in stitches.

This year, festival-goers will be treated to sets by Janeane Garofalo, Zach Galifianakis, Louis C.K, Jimmy Norton and many other funny motherfuckers. But, let’s not forget that Bonnaroo ‘08 marks the first time a comic will perform a set on the main stage. Chris Rock does the honors on the What Stage at 7:45 PM tomorrow night. In the past Bonnaroo has had rock stars as well as comedians on the bill, but today the Superfly folks have taken things to a new level with the announcement of their first rock star comedian adding none other then Chris Rock to the bill. Here’s some info about his special performance…

We are proud to announce that legendary comedian Chris Rock will perform at the 2008 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival.

Rock will do a special one-hour set on the What Stage, Bonnaroo’s biggest. The audience for this performance will be one of the largest ever for a comedy show! For more information about Chris Rock, click here.
