Televised Tune: On the Tube This Weekend

Written by Scott Bernstein on 06.06.2008 | Televised Tune

When Michael Azerrad prepared to write his biography of Nirvana’s Kurt Cobain, Come As You Are: The Story of Nirvana, he conducted over 25 hours worth of interviews with Cobain. Kurt Cobain – About A Boy uses the audio from the interviews as a narrative that allows Cobain to tell his own story. The film doesn’t feature any comments from Courtney Love or Dave Grohl, it’s just Kurt’s story directly from his own mouth. Sadly, I bet we all know how this unfortunate story ends.

Friday [all times Eastern]:

  • Live At Rockpalast: Rick James [BET Jazz 9:00PM]
  • Film: Kurt Cobain – About A Boy [Sundance 10:00PM]
