Last Friday night in Phildelphia, My Morning Jacket came, saw and conquered the enthusiastic crowd at the Festival Pier. The boys mixed songs from Evil Urges with classics from throughout their career and even threw in a Cobra for the diehards.

Glide contributor Jake Krolick attended Friday’s show and made a fantastic video showing the highlights of the evening. Check out this clip for bits and pieces of Off The Record, Thank You Too, I’m Amazed and more…

Further MMJ Viewing:
As we told you yesterday the Black Crowes recently completed a three-night stand at Philadelphia’s TLA that included rarities, bust outs and most of their greatest hits. We sent Jake Krolick to check out the first show and he’s provided us with two incredible videos documenting his experience.

While the first video focused on the Crowes busting out Dylan’s Quinn The Eskimo, the second video features a tasty jam that smoothly works its way into Thorn In My Pride. Chris Robinson even breaks out the harp during this nasty improvisation, but don’t miss Luther Dickinson’s ridiculously quick runs towards the end of the jam. Let’s take a look at Jake’s second video from the TLA…

You may know Jake Krolick from many of the fascinating articles, stunning photos and beautiful illustrations he’s made for Glide and our many competitors. Now Jake is focusing on mashing up artwork and video for his latest multimedia project. One of the first videos he’s created for his YouTube site comes from the Marco Benevento Trio’s recent performance at World Cafe Live.

Jake’s unique mash-up mixes well-shot video and audio from the show, with a bunch of stirring psychedelic images to create one crazy delicious treat. The clip starts with the Benevento, Barr and Mathis rockin’ Bus Ride before moving on to video of the boys covering MMJ’s Golden and The Zombies’ She’s Not There. Also intertwined in the nine-minute video is footage from Marc Brownstein’s sit-in during Fearless, and a couple of minutes of the original Atari. Check it out, and be sure to take a look at Jake’s other mesmerizing mash-ups:
