JFJO Record Store Day Exclusive 7-Inch “The Sensation Of Seeing Light”

Tulsa, OK’s Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey will release "The Sensation Of Seeing Light" on limited edition 7-inch vinyl, available exclusively at Record Store Day, on Saturday, April 17. The track offers a sneak peak into the band’s forthcoming new album, Stay Gold, due June 22 on Kinnara Records/Royal Potato Family.

JFJO also appear for two in-store performances on Record Store Day. The first at Starship Records in their Tulsa hometown and then later in Norman, OK at Guestroom Records. The sets mark the first public performances with new double bassist Jeff Harshbarger who was recently welcomed into the JFJO fold. Residing in Kansas City, Harshbarger is a prolific composer and bandleader in his own right, and has recorded and performed across the globe with a variety of musicians from the likes of Bobby Watson and Curtis Fuller to Mike Dillon, Mark Southerland and Eugene Chadbourne.

In other JFJO news, the band is putting the final touches on Ludwig, a reinterpretation of Beethoven’s 3rd & 6th Symphonies. Orchestrated by Noam Faingold and arranged by Faingold and JFJO for a 44-piece orchestra plus jazz quartet, Beethoven’s 3rd & 6th have been re-conceptualized in a modern light. The band will debut the Ludwig project in full orchestral form live at the OK Mozart Festival in June 2010.
