The Number Line: Phish Attendance and Gross Sales 2012

Written by on 01.03.2013 | News, Phish, The Number Line

For this edition of The Number Line we take a look at the attendance figures as well as the total gross from each headlining gig Phish played in 2012. All figures within this post were sourced from Billboard’s Box Scores with the exception of the quartet’s three-night stand at Bader Field in Atlantic City.

Whatever you think of the music Phish delivered in 2012, the figures below show it was a successful year at box offices when the band came to town. Bear in mind that the financial figures provided are gross sales and do not represent what Phish took home from each gig. For the just-completed New Year’s Run, we used last year’s figures to give you an idea of what we can expect when Billboard posts the 2012 numbers.

Summer Tour Leg One (Date(s), Venue, Tickets Sold, Capacity, Total Gross):

6/7 and 6/8 @ DCU Center, Worcester MA = 25,346 / 28,666 / $1,520,760

6/15, 6/16 and 6/17 @ Bader Field, Atlantic City NJ = 58,990 / Unavailable / Unavailable

6/19 and 6/20 @ nTelos Wireless Pavilion, Portsmouth VA = 13,780 / 13,780 / $827,400

6/22 @ Riverbend Music Center, Cincinnati OH = 11,075 / 20,500 / $581,400

The Number Line: Phish Video Portal PhishVids.com

Written by on 03.13.2012 | Phish, The Number Line

For this installment of The Number Line, we’ve enlisted the help of Daniel Saewitz, the creator of PhishVids.com to share some statistics about his fantastic site. If you’re unfamiliar with PhishVids, it’s a portal where you can search for Phish Videos by date and setlist. For instance, want to see if there are any clips from the quartet’s October 26, 2010 performance at Manchester, New Hampshire’s Verizon Wireless Arena? Simply head to the 2010 page and then scroll down and click on 10/26 and you’ll see the setlist for that show. When you click on a certain song, you’ll see a list of all available videos of that tune as well as the uploader, length and number of views.

Daniel launched PhishVids.com in 2010 and has indexed thousands of videos ever since, providing a great resource for the fanbase. The following data provides a look at PhishVids.com by the numbers…

524,081 – Total Page Views

11,169 – Total Number of Videos Indexed

105 – Shows With Only Video

Thanks to Daniel for all the time and effort, at his own expense, he’s put into PhishVids.com.

The Number Line: My Morning Jacket Tour Stats, Recap, Audio, Video & More

Just as quickly as it started, My Morning Jacket’s ten-show Spring Tour came to a close on Sunday night at the LC Outdoor Pavilion in Columbus, Ohio. Over the course of the run, the group stuck pretty close to the vest in terms of setlists although the order of songs did change from night to night. But that’s not to say they didn’t treat each audience to a one-timer or two.

[All photos from 4/21 by Derek Martinez]

For this edition of The Number Line we’ve compiled all ten setlists – via the MMJ Archive – threw them into a spreadsheet and came up with a bunch of stats that we think you’ll find interesting. Not only that, we also looked at every YouTube clip from the tour and linked only the best ones in the setlist section of the post after the jump along with links to the available audio on the Live Music Archive. Basically, we put together everything you need to know about MMJ’s Spring Tour. Enough from me, let’s get to the stats…

212 – Total Songs Played
37 – Different Songs Played
25 – Most Songs Played at One Show (4/21 and 4/28)
20 – Fewest Songs Played at non-New Orleans Show (4/23)
11 – Fewest Songs Played at One Show (4/24b)
10 – Shows on the tour
9 – Songs From The Z LP Played This Tour (Wordless Chorus, It Beats 4 U, Gideon, What A Wonderful Man, Off The Record, Anytime, Lay Low, Knot Comes Loose, Dondante)
8 – Shows That Closed With Move On Up
