If you’ve ever watched CBS’s long-running Sunday Morning news program, you know they occasionally profile musicians. And those profiles are usually among the best features you can find about those musicians. Thanks to a tip from Anthony Mason, the correspondent usually tasked with profiles of musicians, we know that Aaron Neville will appear on this week’s (March 3rd) episode of Sunday Morning while Phish front man Trey Anastasio will appear on next Sunday’s (March 10th) episode.
Mason’s profile on Neville will focus on the 72-year-old’s new doo-wop album, My True Story, and his departure from The Neville Brothers to resume his solo career. While Mason hasn’t revealed anything about his piece featuring Anastasio, we don’t think it’s a stretch to think it will discuss his role in co-writing the music for the Broadway musical Hands On A Hardbody.
Anastasio was last profiled on the February 18th, 2001 episode of Sunday Morning, around the time of his performances with the Vermont Youth Orchestra. You can view the nine-minute feature below…
