The classical and Deadhead worlds met head on last night at the Marin Veterans Memorial Auditorium in San Rafael, CA where Grateful Dead/Furthur guitarist Bob Weir teamed up with the Marin Symphony for a program titled First Fusion, A New Renaissance.
For the first set Weir was backed by longtime collaborators Rob Wasserman, Robin Sylvester, Jay Lane and Jeff Chimenti plus Quartet San Francisco along a 10-voice chorus and assorted extra pieces. Set Two found Weir joined by the full Marin Symphony as well as Wasserman, Sylvester, Lane and Chimenti.
