Mixed among the many originals The Black Crowes played last night were a handful of covers, two of which were debuts. The band worked Joe South’s Hush into Hard To Handle during the encore and unleashed their version of Medicated Goo by Traffic towards the beginning of the show. Medicated Goo was originally released by Traffic as a single in 1968 and subsequently appeared on the group’s Last Exit album in 1969 in the middle of a period where the band had broken up.

An audience recording of last night’s show has surfaced allowing us to hear TBC’s version of Medicated Goo. Black Crowes guitarists Jackie Greene and Rich Robinson work brilliantly off each other during the intro and the solo section towards the end of the tune. Take a listen and see if you agree…
