HT faves Grace Potter and the Nocturnals kicked off a two-night stand at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York last night. Towards the end of the evening Potter and her band debuted a Grateful Dead cover for the first time in the group’s history.
Grace and guitarist Benny Yurco shared vocals for a rockin’ take on Casey Jones…
This has been even more of a cover-heavy tour for GP&tN than usual as the band has paid tribute to Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty and Bill Withers as well as debuted the traditional House of the Rising Sun since hitting the road at the start of January. The U.S. portion of the “Roar Tour” finishes tonight at The Cap before the band heads to Europe and Australia in March.
