Today marks the release of Umphrey’s McGee Hall of Fame: Class of 2011, a compilation featuring the aggro-jammers’ top musical moments of 2011, as voted on by fans, assembled into two-set format.  Hall of Fame: Class of 2011 is available in most digital formats and CD via UMLive.net and as a limited edition, split color vinyl through the band’s online store.

We continue UM Hall of Fame Week with streaming audio from the release, but not just any track. At UM Bowl II on April 2, 2011 one prescient fan texted the words “Soaring Uplifting Jam” during Q2 of the event in which the sextet interpreted texts sent by fans. The resulting seven-plus minutes of music stands as one of the most beautiful, anthemic pieces the band has ever played and was vaulted into instant classic territory immediately. Unsurprisingly, the fans voted “Soaring Uplifting Jam” onto the Hall of Fame compilation and track has benefited greatly from analog sound caressing. Take a listen…
