F4tF – Goings and comings & Grillin’ On the Bay/The Brooklyn Chili Smackdown

Ok, now onto the openings:

DOB 111: It stands for Date of Birth November 1st (11/1), the birthday of owner Michael Huynh so I was told.  Located at 115 St Marks Place.  Again according to Eater, “Michael Huynh’s new French-Vietnamese spot in the old Australian space, soft opened to the public over the weekend and will open again tomorrow for dinner (it’s closed today due to an event). Dinner will run all this week, lunch begins next week” (from March 22nd).  The opening menu is listed on the Eater posting.

South Brooklyn Pizza: The first outpost of the Carrol Gardens pizzeria in Manhattan should be opening this week at 122 1st Avenue (between 7th & 8th).  I went by yesterday and it was not yet open, looking forward to trying it for sure though.

Right before I finished this post, I received an email reminder about a great food event taking place this Saturday:
