F4tF: LA for the Foodies?

Since there is food news happening every day and I am always reading about industry related articles in New York City and around the world, Scotty and I thought now would be the best time to get the twitter feed going.  If you are not following us yet, feel free to stop by and start following.  If anyone who reads this column and is on twitter has something food-related and worth posting on the twitter feed, send me an @HiddenTrkF4tF message and I will add it to the feed.  Our goal is to make this feed a easy place to stop to find out about food stories or events of interest.

The second half of my blogs of interest posting from last week will be continued and completed soon.

Have a great weekend everyone!

  1. Lucy’s El Adobe (avoid El Coyote) is the under the radar choice for awesome authentic mexican, and has a cool old Hollywood appeal as its across the street form Paramount Studios. Also the Cactus #1 or #2 stands for cheap quick bites, there’s one on Vine just north of Melrose – load up on the salsa bar.

As for pre-gamming the bowl, just go and hang out at the bowl. Check the show to make sure you can bring food/booze, but it’s gorgeous there. If you do want a bar, there’s not one in easy walking distance, but Cat and the Fiddle is one of the oldest in the city (Charlie Chaplin drank there) and has a chill out door patio great for day time drinking – 5 minute drive to the bowl, but if you wait too long you’ll get stuck in pre-show traffic. Enjoy! Also the hot thing right now in LA is Umami Burger, it’s pretty awesome, but stick to In-n-Out – and I assume you’re aware of their Animal Style Fries, if not, now you are.

  2. Find a Kogi BBQ truck while you’re here, it’s all the rage.

Don’t forget for a show like that, the Bowl is BYOB/food. I’ll be going to that show for sure.
