Here are some other NYC-based food stories that caught my attention

Momofuko’s new restaurant in the Chambers Hotel on East 56th Street, Má Pêche is about to start a prix fixe dinner called Beef 7 Ways.  NBC New York’s Ben Leventhal went to the preview Wednesday night.  Here is his report (including pictures.)  I ate lunch at Má Pêche recently and it was real good.  Service, creativity, presentation, innovation and lots of flavors were all at a very high level.   The site also says that as per @katekrader Má Pêche will begin taking reservations for the “Beef 7 Ways” feast beginning Monday, May 17th. (Kate Krader is the restaurant editor for Food & Wine magazine in case you did not know).

Serious Eats posted their NYC Food Events For the Weekend (And Beyond).  My personal pick this weekend on this list that I hope to attend is:

Crawfish Boil
Saturday, May 15, 4:00-8:00pm, and Sunday, May 16, 3:00pm-7:00pm
Crawfish NYC presents the 5th Annual Crawfish Boil fundraising event. Taking place at Solar One, an outdoor venue on the bank of the East River, this event promises 2,000 pounds of live crawfish. The crawfish will be cooked with a variety of things like potatoes, corn, mushrooms, garlic, onions, and sausage. Six Point Brewery Beer and New Orleans Hurricanes will be on hand to quench your thirst. Proceeds go to Kids Need a Melody–a nonprofit that provides music programs to children living in shelters. $75. Solar One, 2420 FDR Drive (between 22nd and 23rd Streets); event website.

Lastly for anyone heading to Amsterdam anytime soon, here is an article worth checking out that I found on twitter:

All for now, hope everyone has a great weekend.
